☀️ SunProof

Track: Renewable Energy & Energy Trading (renewable certificate tracking). Small rooftop solar owners make clean energy but cannot prove it cheaply, and buyers cannot see the data behind a green certificate. SunProof audits hourly meter data, hashes every reading into one Merkle root, anchors that root on Solana (devnet), issues 1-MWh Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) only for energy that passes the audit, blocks double counting, and lets anyone verify.

Tested on a real household solar meter

Open Power System Data, household PV meter residential3 (Konstanz, Germany), April 2017: the raw series reports 885.2 kWh, but 631.1 kWh (71%) of it was gap-filled by the data publisher, not measured. Without using the publisher's flags, SunProof's audit held back 603.1 kWh — 96% of the unmeasured energy — and flagged 0 measured hours. On a clean control month (residential4, June 2017, 1,570.9 kWh) it flagged nothing. Pick "Real data" below to reproduce it.

meter readings→audit: physics + learned baseline + replay check + satellite cross-check→SHA-256 Merkle root→Solana devnet memo tx→1-MWh RECs, no double counting→anyone verifies

Yellow = eligible readings, red = held back by the audit, dashed blue = capacity limit, green line = output expected from satellite irradiance (real data only).

Prove one reading

A buyer or auditor checks a single reading with a short Merkle proof, without downloading the whole dataset.

On-chain registry (Solana devnet)

Every certificate is a Memo-program transaction signed by the SunProof issuer key. A second certificate for an overlapping meter + period is refused, so the same energy cannot be sold twice.
